Former President Donald Trump is hosting a major rally in Sarasota, Florida on the eve of the Fourth of July.
In a statement released by his Save America PAC, Trump announced the rally will be co-sponsored by the Republican Party of Florida, and the event “marks President Trump’s further support of the MAGA agenda and accomplishments of his administration.”
The former President is becoming increasingly more active in his rally-style events — which he was notorious for on the campaign trail. Largely, Trump drew thousands to each address he gave during his campaign and his presidency.
Before the rally in Florida, Trump will travel to Ohio to boost the campaign of Republican Mike Carey, who is running in a special election to replace Rep. Steve Stivers — who is leaving the position early to become President of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce. Carey was endorsed by Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s former campaign manager, earlier this year.
Trump is expected to utilize the rallies to draw a stark comparison between his administration and current President Joe Biden. Recently, Trump has released statements criticizing the Biden administration for their handling of the crisis on the Southern border.
Biden has reversed several key policies that helped reduce the number of illegal immigration. Additionally, Vice President Kamala Harris has refused to visit the border — even as Biden tapped her to lead the administration’s efforts.
In addition to a speech by Trump, the rally has several events planned. To begin the event, the Sarasota fairgrounds will have live music and concessions. Additionally, speakers will address the crowd before Trump takes the stage.
After Trump speaks, the statement promised a “HUGE fireworks show to celebrate America following President Trump’s remarks to conclude a full day event commemorating our Great Country!”
